Mini Medical School: Explore Medicine with Hands-On Activities for Young Learners
Welcome to Mini Medical School, a fun and educational camp designed for young campers ages 4-5 who are curious about the world of medicine. This exciting camp introduces kids to the fascinating field of healthcare, where they will explore anatomy, physiology, first aid, and more through hands-on activities and experiments. This camp allows young minds to dive into the basics of the human body, learn about germs, and discover what it means to be a doctor all while having fun with friends.
Camp Overview:
At our camp, children will embark on an interactive journey through the human body. With fun and engaging lessons on topics like anatomy, blood, and first aid, campers will develop a foundational understanding of how our bodies work and how medical professionals help keep us healthy. From learning about the importance of hand washing to understanding how doctors treat injuries, your child will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills in medicine.
What Campers Will Learn and Do:
– Anatomy & Physiology: Kids will explore the human body through anatomy puzzles and fun activities that teach them about different body parts and their functions.
– Building a First Aid Kit: Campers will create their very own first aid kit, learning the importance of being prepared for emergencies.
– Hand Washing Challenge: Learn about germs and hygiene through a hands-on hand washing experiment, highlighting the importance of cleanliness.
– Parts of the Blood: Campers will discover the components of blood and understand how it circulates through the body.
– Splinting & Syringe Use: Children will get to practice first aid techniques like splinting a limb and safely using a syringe.
Additionally, the camp introduces “Goodnight, Little Doctor”, a charming book written by physicians, to teach children about the values of integrity, patient care, and the healing process. This beautifully illustrated bedtime story emphasizes the importance of seeing patients as individuals and focusing on healing, not just curing. Each camper will receive their own copy to take home as a reminder of the lessons learned in camp.
Take-Home Materials:
At the end of the camp, each child will take home their very own medical bag filled with the supplies they used throughout the week, allowing them to continue practicing their newfound skills at home.
Sign up for Mini Medical School today and give your child the opportunity to explore the exciting world of medicine in a fun, hands-on environment!

Forms & Resources
Sun Screen Waiver Form
With hot summer temperatures upon us, we’d like to remind you of the extra precautions we take to make sure our campers stay cool and well hydrated. Please take a look at our FAQ page to see our procedures for keeping the kids cool! If you would like us to apply sunscreen, please fill out the waiver form and hand it into the Camp Director on Monday morning.
Summer Camp Planner
Club SciKidz realizes that families are very busy during the summer. With multiple camps and sometimes multiple kids, it can be a real challenge planning and then getting them to all of their summer activities.
How do we stay on top of it all without going crazy!? The easiest solution, we believe, is to send all of your kids to every single week of Club SciKidz Summer Camp. With 42 unique camps, we have something for all of your kids!
However, we know that is not always practical, and that your kids have other interests as well, such as art/sports/etc… So, we have created this simple Summer Camp Planner to help you organize your summers. All you have to do is print it out and put your child’s name up top and then fill-in the rest of their Summer Camp Schedules. This is a great tool to help organize & plan your summers and hopefully give you a little more time to have some time of your own!
Medical Form
The Welcome Packet mentions an ‘Administration of Medicine Form’. If your child requires any medications during the time he/she is at the camp, please download this form and print it, fill in the required information, and bring it with the child on the first day of camp.
